Enterprise Facilitator Volunteer - ARCHWAY

When: Mondays 10.00am - 12.00pm

Role reports to: Progression Coach

You will contribute to ending homelessness by

Supporting members who are moving on from our service, helping them on their path to a sustainable end to homelessness. You will do this by facilitating members in one to one appointments with a Work and Learning Coach and providing professional advice and guidance on business start-up. 

 

  • An understanding of the needs and behaviours of our client group and an ability to engage and encourage clients to go into sustainable self-employment 
  • Interpersonal communication skills with a particular focus on listening 
  • Good time-keeping and reliability 
  • Non-judgmental, patient and friendly 
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and maintaining boundaries 
  • Be positive, productive and have a passion to help end homelessness 

 

  • Workplace experience in a national organisation 
  • Opportunities to work with staff and clients during the year and to support and gain a greater understanding of member’s career goals and aspirations at Crisis 
  • Regular meetings with your supervisor to discuss how your volunteering is going and what other opportunities and training may be available to you together with an induction 
  • A platform for building confidence  
  • A reference from a reputable organisation  

 

  • Leading and facilitating business start-up advice sessions for clients who wish to become self-employed through the support of Crisis Skylight in Birmingham 
  • Providing information, advice and guidance on business management, running a business successfully and self-employment 
  • Supporting clients to access grants and apply for grants relevant to their career goals 

 

We expect volunteers to comply with Crisis policies including health and safety, data protection and code of conduct at all times.
