Behind the Scenes Training Support Volunteer

Location: Liverpool

When: Mondays 10.00am - 12.00pm

Role reports to: Progression Coach

You will contribute to ending homelessness by

 

Supporting our members who would like to begin a career in retail. You will do this by providing extra help during training sessions to support any learners who may have additional needs.

 

 

 


 

 

  • A passion for learning and aiding Learners’ progress
  • Interest or experience working with people with varied support needs; including ESOL, low literacy and Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD)
  • Interpersonal communication skills with ability to make people feel safe and included
  • Good time-keeping and reliability
  • Non-judgmental, patient and friendly
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and maintaining boundaries

 

  • Workplace experience in a national organisation

  • Assisting the trainer in delivering a high quality Behind the Scenes day, keeping members engaged, and assisting the running of the session

  • Providing support to individual members within the group to help them achieve their learning objectives, encouraging them to develop their confidence, knowledge and skills.

  • Providing assistance during the practical assessment. Making sure all evidence is captured from learners and aiding Trainers in delivery when required.

  • Supporting the trainer with preparation of classroom resources and packing away at the end of sessions

  • Assisting Members with the completion of any relevant paperwork, where requested by the trainer or when support needs are apparent. (These could be language, literacy and learning difficulties.)

  • When required, checking workbooks to ensure relevant evidence is captured and falls in line with the correct assessment criteria.
