Collection Tin Ambassador Volunteer

Location: South Wales

When: Mondays 10.00am - 12.00pm

Role reports to: Progression Coach

You will contribute to ending homelessness by

Helping us to continue to deliver our services. You will do this by helping to grow and develop the Crisis collection tin project, taking responsibility for a minimum of one tin in your local area.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Friendly and confident in speaking to a wide range of people
  • Good time-keeping and reliability

  • Non-judgmental, patient and friendly

  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and maintaining boundaries

  • Be positive, productive and have a passion to help end homelessness

 

  • Fundraising experience in a national organisation
  • The opportunity to share existing or develop new skills in a friendly and supportive environment
  • Opportunities to work with staff and fellow volunteers during the year and an invite to our member celebrations where you can help us recognise the achievements of our members
  • Regular meetings with your supervisor to discuss how your volunteering is going and what other opportunities and training may be available to you together with an induction
  • A platform for building confidence
  • A reference from a reputable organisation
  • Proactively identifying local businesses or organisations that could host a Crisis collection tin for a minimum of three months 
  • Ensure that the host organisation is aware of their responsibilities as a host 
  • Complete and return the collection tin paperwork to Crisis 
  • Check your tin at least once every month and when the tin is full count and bank the income 
  • Refresh the tin (clean and reapply the collection seals) 
  • Bank the income using the reference numbers provided and email fundraising.newcastle.org.uk with your banking form

We expect volunteers to comply with Crisis policies including health and safety, data protection and code of conduct at all times.
